Telangana: Three intermediate students die in accident in Jagtial

After hitting the motorcycle, the truck rammed into an autorickshaw.

Hyderabad: At least three intermediate students died in an accident in Jagtial’s Dharmapuri on Wednesday, April 1, after a truck hit their motorcycle.

The deceased were identified as Madasu Amarnath, 17, Padala Rishwanth, 17, and Kola Mayank, 16, who died on the spot. According to the police, the truck coming from Mancherial lost control while trying to overtake another vehicle and hit the motorcycle.

After hitting the motorcycle, the truck rammed into an autorickshaw, due to which the rickshaw overturned, and nine passengers were injured. The injured were shifted to a government hospital.

Preliminary investigation indicated that overspeeding and negligent overtaking by the truck driver led to the accident. The Dharampuri police registered a case of rash and negligent driving under Section 106(1) Bharatiya Nyaya Sanahita.
