AIMIM releases first list of candidates for West Bengal Assembly polls

The West Bengal Assembly has 294 seats and the Trinamool Congress has been ruling the state since 2011.

Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Friday, April 3, released the first list of 12 candidates for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections.

The list of candidates and their respective constituencies is given below

  • Imran Solanki from Raghunathganj
  • Danish Aziz from Asansol Uttar
  • Misbah ul Islam Khan from Kandi
  • Rejaul Kareem from Sujapur
  • Advocate Mohammed Mostahid Haque from Motabari
  • Haji Ansar Shaik from Nalhati
  • Tasir Shaik from Morari
  • Monaem Sardar from Barasat
  • Mehbub Alam from Karandighi
  • Asadul Shaik from Suti
  • Shabana Parvin from Basirhat
  • Asik Raj Mondal from Habra

West Bengal elections in two phases

The Gazette notification for Phase one of the West Bengal polls were issued on March 30, while Phase two will be notified on April 2.

Last day for filing nominations is April 6, for phase one and April 9 for phase two. The nominations will be scrutinised on April 7.

The last date to withdraw candidature is April 9 for Phase one and April 13 for Phase two. Elections must be completed before May 6.

West Bengal has a total of 294 Assembly seats, where Trinamul Congress leader Mamata Banerjee has been in power since 2011.

As per the electoral rolls, there are 6,45,61,152 electors in the state.
