A suitcase containing 12 tulas of gold ornaments was left behind by three people in Chandrashekar's auto.

An auto driver’s honesty was rewarded handsomely by the police in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur after he returned a lost suitcase with 12 tulas of gold ornaments in it.

According to local reports, three people had boarded Chandrashekar’s auto to go to a wedding in Maruthi Nagar on November 6. After he dropped them off, he noticed a suitcase had been left behind. Chandrashekar immediately went back to the venue but could not find his passengers.

Still, he decided to hand over the bag to the police, who later traced its rightful owners and safely handed the gold ornaments back to them.

As a reward for his honesty, the police, in the presence of deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Srinivas Rao felicitated Chandrashekar with a shawl and handed over an envelope of Rs 10,000.
