Hyderabad: Launching a scathing attack on the state government, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has signed a ‘death warrant’ for the Telangana farmers by deciding to procure paddy within the limits prescribed by the Centre.
“Earlier, Revanth Reddy questioned whether the previous government was acting as a broker for Prime Minister Narendra Modi whenever it followed the Centre’s directives. Today, he is doing exactly the same by saying that the state will procure only the quantity approved by the Centre,” KTR said at a constituency-level party workers’ meeting in Wardhannapet, Warangal, on Monday, June 22.
He also blamed the government for having repeatedly failed to address fertiliser shortages, seed shortages, power cuts, Rythu Bharosa delay, and the discontinuation of Rythu Bima.
“Under KCR’s governance, the BRS government utilised borrowed funds for welfare programmes, irrigation projects, drinking water schemes, 24-hour power supply and infrastructure development. But now, from a decade-long of welfare, Telangana has slipped into crisis mode,” he said.
“The Congress government is only focused on political vendetta and how to harass the Opposition,” he claimed.
He further promised to party workers that BRS will always stand with its cadres and their families and hold accountable those who misuse official machinery. “For the next five years, I take responsibility for the development and welfare of our party workers. The strength of the BRS lies in its cadre, and we will stand by every worker who has remained with the party through difficult times,” he said.
