Hyderabad: Four held for performing bike stunts at Attapur

The Attapur Police chased the accused, arrested the group and seized their vehicles.

Hyderabad: Four youngsters were arrested in Hyderabad’s Attapur area on Friday, March 27, after they were caught performing bike stunts in front of a police vehicle, officials said.

The accused were identified as Mohammed Amer Baba, 21, a resident of Borabanda, Sanathnagar, Mohammed Ashwak, 19, a resident of Miyapur; Mohammed Sameeruddin, 26, and Mohammed Nashit Atas, 20, a resident of Khairatabad.

According to police, two of the accused performed the stunts near pillar number 143 of the PVNR Expressway, while the other two filmed the act, apparently to post on social media. When the police tried to stop the vehicle, the accused tried to get away.

A video of the incident, which circulated widely on social media, shows the duo executing the stunts brazenly in full view of the police vehicle.

The police chased the group, nabbed all four and seized their vehicles. Speaking to Siasat.com, an officer of Attapur Police said, “The accused were arrested for rash and negligent driving under Section 106 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).”

The accused have been booked under Sections 125, 281 and 292 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and Sections 183, 184 190(2) of the Motor Vehicles Act.

The police said the accused did not have a driving license or registration certificate at the time of arrest. They were sent to judicial custody on Tuesday.
