Hyderabad man electrocuted while installing Milad-un-Nabi lights

Hyderabad: A man was electrocuted while installing lights on an electric pole in Nampally on Sunday, August 23, ahead of Milad-un-Nabi on August 26.

The incident occurred at Bazarghat X Roads, where the deceased, Syeed Meraj, a resident of Feelkhana, Mallepally, was putting up the lights. According to preliminary information, Meraj had climbed an electric pole using a ladder to install wires for the lights.

He suffered a shock and fell off the ladder, sustaining multiple injuries. Residents shifted Meraj to Osmania General Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment. The Nampally police registered a case in this regard.

Speaking to Siasat.com, Nampally police said, “The incident occurred at midnight; Meraj died due to electric shock. A case of suspicious death has been registered under Section 194 BNSS.”
