Dr Mir Jawad Zar Khan
Hyderabad: Dr Mir Jawad Zar Khan, an orthopaedic surgeon with more than 25 years’ clinical practice, has built a career around joint replacement and spine surgery with more than 20,000 procedures to date.
An Osmania University graduate, who secured a gold medal, Dr Khan later completed an M.Ch. in Orthopaedics from the University of Seychelles-American Institute of Medicine. He also trained in arthroplasty during a fellowship in Munich, Germany, working alongside surgeons of international standing.
Dr Khan established Germanten Hospital in Attapur, where he serves as a senior consultant. The hospital conducts procedures ranging from computer-navigated joint replacements to arthroscopy and complex spine surgeries, and is equipped for advanced trauma care.
His expertise lies in minimally invasive surgery, sports medicine, and ligament reconstruction. He is a member of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS), Société Internationale de Chirurgie Orthopédique et de Traumatologie (SICOT), and the Indian Orthopaedic Association.
He has performed more than 20000 successful surgeries, including knee, hip and shoulder replacements.
Dr Khan was awarded the “Champion of Change Award” in 2023 by former President Ram Nath Kovind. Outside the operating theatre, he has been engaged in public health initiatives, including screening camps during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Colleagues describe him as a surgeon who blends technical expertise with a commitment to advancing orthopaedic care in Hyderabad, drawing patients from across India and overseas.
