Hyderabad: The city police here arrested a 21-year-old for endangering public safety by driving in an open jeep while brandishing an air rifle. The issue came to light when a video of the accused, Afeezuddin, surfaced on social media.
According to the video released by the Hyderabad police, Afeezuddin can be seen keeping the firearm on the dashboard of the jeep. The video was shot near hotel Sarvi in Banjara Hills, Road No 1.
A case was registered with the Banjara Hills police station after the video went viral and the cops arrested the accused immediately. The firearm in question is an air rifle, said the Hyderabad police.
The accused is a videographer by profession and he reportedly uses the air rifle in creating reels on social media, said a press rel.ease from the Hyderabad police. “He used the same air rifle and created a reel showing he is traveling in an open top jeep on road no 1 in the night and the air rifle in his hand which is against to the law and attracts arms act,” it added.
The Hyderabad police has also cautioned the general public to do indulge in practices.
