Jashn-e-Deccan 2026 honours students, community service in Oman

The event featured a Sufi Qawwali performance by the renowned Warsi Brothers.

Muscat: Jashn-e-Deccan 2026, the signature cultural event of the Deccani Wing of Indian Social Club Oman, brought together members of the Indian community to celebrate academic achievement, community service and cultural heritage.

The event was held on July 31 at Oman Hall, CBFS, Bowsher, and was presented by Silver Structures LLC. Prashant Pise, Ambassador of India to Oman, attended as the chief guest, along with prominent members of the Indian community and corporate sector.

A key highlight of the programme was the recognition of students who excelled in the recent CBSE examinations. Ambassador Pise presented awards to the young achievers, making the occasion significant for the students and their families.

Class XII achievers Roofey Manaal and Ramiya Manal, along with Class X achievers Syeda Musfirah Kulsum and Syeda Saleha Yasmin, were felicitated for their academic performance. Mohammed Maaz Quadri and Nusrat Mohiuddin received awards in special categories.

The event also featured a performance by renowned qawwali artistes Nazeer and Naseer Warsi of the Warsi Brothers. Their Sufi Qawwali and special musical presentation highlighting different regions of India drew an enthusiastic response from the packed audience.

The programme also recognised individuals for their contribution to the community. Salman Amjad, Dawood Khan, Syed Fasiuddin and Mohammed Abdul Aziz were honoured for their community service.

Special mementos were presented to Suhail Khan, Chairman of Indian Social Club Oman, and Syed Ahmed Salman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools Oman, in recognition of their service to the Indian community.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Pise congratulated the Deccani Wing for its continued work for the community. The wing, which is involved in humanitarian, social, cultural and welfare initiatives, was also presented with an Award of Excellence by the ambassador for its contribution.

Jashn-e-Deccan 2026 brought together academic recognition, community service and cultural performances, highlighting the Deccani Wing’s efforts to support the Indian community and preserve its cultural heritage in Oman.
