Telangana Jagruthi Samithi president K Kavitha addresses the media
Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi Samithi president, K Kavitha on Friday, December 12 issued legal notice to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and MP over remarks against her husband.
The legal notices were sent to BRS MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao and BJP MP Aleti Maheshwar Reddy. Kavitha explained that her husband did not do business on government lands. “There is no connection between me or my husband and the land near IDPL,” Kavitha said while addressing the media.
“A 100 per cent, the industrial lands given on lease by the government were selectively handed over to private persons in the BRS government, by affixing signatures. Time has to decide who signed and who was behind it,” she said.
The issue is gaining attention as it comes at a time when relations between the Kalvakuntla family and Kavitha are strained. Kavitha has been consistently targeting her cousins and BRS leaders Harish Rao and Joginapally Santosh Kumar. Kavitha added that her time will come and claimed she will become the CM one day. She warned that once she sits in the chair, she will review incidents from 2014.
Claiming that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy came to power by branding the BRS as corrupt but has not acted against such irregularities, she said the Congress government is silent because its leaders have ties with the private beneficiaries of the previous regime.
“Revanth Reddy is silent as he feels that he has become the chief minister and is not concerned about corruption, the state, and the Congress promises. They are silent as he is outrightly linked with the business transactions in BRS. Let time decide. We will see if anybody conducts an inquiry and it comes out,” she said.
“If nothing happens, I will get time. I will become CM one day with god’s blessings. That day, I will inquire about all injustices to date since Telangana was formed in 2014,” she said.
After the defeat of BRS in the 2023 elections, Kavitha began criticising party leaders. This eventually led to her exit from the party.
