Hyderabad: Amid the active monsoon in Telangana, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has forecast heavy rains in the state till Monday, June 29.
Apart from rains, the state is likely to witness thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, etc.
In view of the expected heavy rains and other weather conditions due to the active monsoon, IMD Hyderabad has issued a yellow alert, which will remain valid till Monday.
Meanwhile, T Balaji, a weather enthusiast known for his accurate forecasts, wrote on his X handle that Hyderabad will witness moderate downpours during the late evenings or nights.
For other districts, he wrote, “Intense thunderstorms and heavy rains expected in a few parts of Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Mulugu, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Khammam, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Medak, Siddipet.”
In the case of the city, the weather department has forecast moderate to heavy rains or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds till June 26.
Yesterday, the highest rainfall of 172.8 mm was recorded in Peddapalli, as per data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TDPS).
In the case of Hyderabad, the highest rainfall of 61 mm was recorded in Shaikpet.
As the weather department has forecast heavy rains in the coming days, residents need to plan their travel accordingly.
