Hyderabad: A local court on Monday, June 22, adjourned the hearing in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case to July 6, while actor Allu Arjun, named as accused number 11, did not appear before the court.
According to reports, the actor is currently in Mumbai for film shooting.
His lawyer submitted a petition requesting the court to excuse his personal appearance and permit him to attend future hearings through virtual mode.
Except for Allu Arjun, all other accused appeared before the court today.
The case relates to the stampede that took place during the premiere show of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya 70 MM theatre.
A large number of fans had gathered to see the actor leading to the tragedy in which a woman lost her life and her eight-year-old son suffered serious injuries.
Chikkadpally police registered an FIR and filed the chargesheet against 23 accused in the last week of December 2025. After reviewing the chargesheet, the court issued summons directing all accused, including Allu Arjun, to appear before it.
According to the chargesheet, the theatre owner, partners, manager, lower balcony in-charge and gatekeeper were listed as accused numbers one to ten. The city police also booked Allu Arjun, his security personnel and members of the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint filed by the family of the deceased woman.
Following the incident, the actor was taken into custody for a short period and was later granted bail.
