TGMDCL generates record revenue of Rs 1,003 crore in FY 2025-26

In coordination with the district administration and line departments, the corporation made attempts to prevent illegal mining and sand transportation.

Hyderabad: In a significant milestone, the Telangana Mineral Development Corporation Limited generated a record revenue of Rs 1,008 crore in the financial year 2025-26, according to data released on Thursday, April 2.

Compared to last financial year’s revenue, Rs 738 crore, this year saw an increase of 36 per cent in revenue generation.

“This achievement is the result of a series of strategic measures and effective implementation of policy initiatives undertaken by TGMDCL,” the corporation said in a release.

The TGMDCL generated record revenue of Rs 1,008 by streamlining sand mining operations in districts throughout the year. In coordination with the district administration and line departments, the corporation made attempts to prevent illegal mining and sand transportation by a huge margin.

It ensured uninterrupted sand booking availability and provided year-round access to customers, implementing a transparent booking system, including randomised allocation for equal opportunity.

By integrating closed circuit television (CCTV) camera surveillance and weighbridge systems, the TGMDCL enabled real-time data collection and monitoring. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras on highways were also deployed.

As many as 17 sand bazaars were established in every district to ensure availability at the grassroots level, with four sand bazaars in Hyderabad alone, through which 3.71 lakh metric tonne of sand was sold in the financial year of 2025-26.

Sand bazaars were initiated for citizens to procure quality sand at a fixed price.

Beyond revenue generation, the corporation has created substantial direct and indirect employment opportunities for local villagers, lorry owners and drivers across the sand supply chain. Tribal societies of Bhadradri Kothagudem and Mulugu districts have economically benefited from the sand operations, the corporation said in a statement.
