Hyderabad: A 25-year-old man was hacked to death on Tuesday night by unidentified people in Kamatipura in Hyderabad over an alleged extra-marital affair, the police said on Wednesday.
Arvind Ghosle, who worked at a rice shop in the area, was leaving for home on his bike in the night, when at the Devibagh stretch, a group of unidentified men followed and cornered him, the police said. Soon after, they allegedly attacked him with a knife, the police added.
Arvind suffered multiple deep wounds and died on the spot, the police said, adding that preliminary inquiry suggested that the man may have been murdered due to an alleged extra-marital relationship with a married woman, even as they said they are probing all angles.
Arvind’s family also confirmed that he was in an extra-marital affair. “The woman is married and has three children. Her family was harassing Arvind,” a relative of Arvind told the media.
Kamatipura police shifted Arvind’s body to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for an autopsy and said they have formed special teams to track down the culprits.
