Hyderabad: The Nalgonda police fired in the air when a gang of robbers attacked them on Friday morning, July 5, at ORR Pedda Amberpet. The four-member Pardhi Gang were chased by the police from Nalgonda.
The police were keeping a watch on highways in Nalgonda following a rise in vehicle theft and robberies.
On spotting the gang, the CCS Nalgonda police chased them. The gang sped away and reached Hayathnagar, Abdullapurmet where the police tried to arrest them. The robbers who were carrying knives tried to attack the police team.
The police fired in the air and caught two of them, while the two others managed to escape.
The arrested ones include Appa Pandranga, 30, and Shubham Ashok, 25, while the other two Kashmir Shashipal Bhosle, 32, and Adhesh Anil Khale, 25, are still absconding.
Pardhi gang has been linked with a total of 32 cases across various districts:
Police said that the Pardhi gang would stop vehicles on NH-65, assaulting and intimidating victims with stones and screwdrivers to rob them. They also stole gold items from people inside and outside their homes and took bikes parked in front of houses.
The infamous gang is involved in one murder, 6 robberies, 7 chain snatching cases, 8 bike theft cases and 10 house break-in cases.
