Fire destroys furniture shops in Hyderabad

Six furniture shops were gutted in a major fire in Hyderabad's Gudimalkapur area, with six fire engines deployed to bring the blaze under control.

Hyderabad: At least six furniture shops were gutted in a massive fire in Gudimalkapur Police limits early on Tuesday, June 23.

The fire broke out in the Mughal ka Nala area. After being alerted, the fire department and police rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. Videos shared on social media showed residents in panic.

Speaking to Siasat.com, Gudimalkapur police said, “The fire broke out at 2:40 AM and six shops have been gutted. The cause of the fire and estimated loss are under investigation. A complaint is yet to be filed regarding the incident.”

Additional District Fire Officer Bhanu said that six fire engines were required to put out the fire.
