Amid graft charges, HYC founder Salman Khan declares assets worth only Rs 5.18 lakh

Khan mentions he has Rs 70,000 as cash and Rs 14,284 in three bank accounts. His wife's assets include Rs 1,618 in a bank account, Rs 20,000 in cash

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Youth Courage founder and president Salman Khan and his wife, on Wednesday, October 15, declared property assets valued at Rs 5,18,101 only.

Khan filed his nomination for the Jubilee Hills by election slated to be held on November 11.

In his affidavit, he mentions he has Rs 70,000 as cash and Rs 14,284 in three bank accounts. His wife’s assets include Rs 1,618 in a bank account, Rs 20,000 in cash, and three tolas of gold.

He has neither agricultural and non-agricultural lands nor residential or commercial property, nor do his three dependants (children) have any property, states the affidavit.

This shocking declaration comes amid past allegations of misappropriating crowdfunding funds, financial fraud, bribery, and misuse of charitable donations, as well as a case where his image was allegedly used to dupe a Begumpet resident of Rs 7.9 lakh.

The affidavit further states 14 registered cases against him in different police stations. Two cases were filed at the Borabanda police station after he began his election campaign, while two others pertain to fund swindling and one to allegedly threatening Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh. In all the cases, the police have not yet framed charges against him, Salman stated in his affidavit.
