Illegal bakery raided in Hyderabad, material worth Rs 2.77 lakh seized

The accused did not have any food license, manufacturing license, labour or trade license, and was not following any fire safety protocols, police said.

Hyderabad: A bakery allegedly running without a valid license and under unhygienic conditions was raided by Tappachabutra Police on Thursday, April 2, officials said.

The bakery had been operating under the name “Chand Bakery” at Natraj Nagar, Jhirra, in Tappachabutra.

The owner, Syed Khadeer, was arrested and materials worth Rs 2,77,630 were seized, including 50 kg maida, 50 kg sugar, six cartons of sauce, 13 cartons of Dalda ghee, 25 kg coconut powder, 20 kg cake powder, four tins of oil, eight kg of chicken and machinery.

The accused did not have any food license, manufacturing license and labour or trade license, and was not following any fire safety protocols, the police said.

These products were being supplied to various kirana and general stores, cafes and hotels, thereby endangering human life, they added.

A case has been registered under sections 274 (adulteration of food or drink intended for sale

), 275 (sale of noxious food or drink) and 318(4) (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
