New TRS in Telangana: Kavitha floats party echoing BRS’s old name

Kavitha launches Telangana Rashtra Sena, reviving TRS recall that mirrors BRS’s former identity; vows political shift and seeks people’s mandate.

Hyderabad: In a move loaded with political symbolism, Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Saturday announced the launch of Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS)—reviving a name that closely echoes the former identity of Bharat Rashtra Samithi—while declaring her ambition to become chief minister and usher in what she called a “new revolution” in Telangana.

Stating that a “new revolution” has begun in Telangana, Kavitha appealed to the people of the state to extend their blessings and support.

She made these remarks while interacting with the media during a rally en route to a massive public meeting at Munirabad in Medchal district, organized to mark the party’s formation day.

Earlier, Kavitha held interfaith prayers at her residence and sought blessings from her husband and family members. She later visited Gun Park in Hyderabad to pay tributes to the martyrs of the Telangana movement.

Subsequently, she proceeded in a rally to Muneerabad, where a large gathering of supporters and party workers assembled for the formation day event.
