Hyderabad: Two people from the six-member gang that committed a heist at the Khazana Jewelry store in Chandanagar have been arrested by Cyberabad police and about 900 grams of silver articles have been recovered.
The two offenders have been identified as Aashish Kumar Singh, 22 and Deepak Kumar Sah, 22. Both of them are natives of Bihar.
On August 12, a gang of six armed offenders wearing masks entered the store and opened fire at the Deputy Manager, Satish Kumar, injuring his left knee, and looted around 10 kg of silver articles, including gold-coated silver.
According to a police press note, 7 people have been identified in the case thus far.
According to the police, Deepak works as a welding worker in Hyderabad and with his help, the accused rented accommodation at Asbestos Colony, Jeedimetla on July 31.
They also procured two second-hand bikes and conducted a recce of showrooms at Chandanagar before finally executing the robbery at Khazana Jewellers.
Aashish was apprehended in Maharashtra, and based on his information, Deepak Kumar Sah, who arranged stay, vehicles, and helped identify targets, was also arrested.
A case has been registered under sections 11(2), 115(2), 127(2), 324(3), 310(2), 351(3) Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 25(1-B), 27(1) of the Arms Act. Further investigation is underway.
Police have advised jewellery shop managers to take adequate security measures during operational hours and to deploy intrusion alarm panels in their establishments.
