UAE: Minor earthquake recorded in Fujairah

Residents felt it lightly, but no damage was reported.

Abu Dhabi: A minor earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale struck the Safad area of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday, August 22.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported on X that the tremor occurred at 12:35 pm local time at a depth of 2.3 kilometres.

Residents felt it lightly, but no damage was reported.

The quake follows a 2.2-magnitude tremor in Oman’s Madha region on Thursday, August 21.
