Telangana CM welcomes SC decision
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday, April 3, welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the recruitment of 563 candidates to the TGPSC Group 1 posts.
Reddy termed the verdict a landmark win, adding that it reinforces the Telangana government’s commitment to transparency and dedication towards the state’s youth.
A major relief, says CM
In a statement, the CM said that the apex court’s decision is a major relief. “For ten years, these candidates waited with hope, often bearing the burden of their parents’ struggles and the anxiety of whether they would ever secure a government job. This verdict is a massive victory for those who were worried about their future,” Reddy said.
Challenges overcome by govt
Reddy said that after coming to power, the Congress government expedited the TGPSC Group 1 recruitment process by issuing the notification, conducting the exam, and distributing appointment letters.
“We successfully cleared the hurdles created by malicious forces who attempted to obstruct these recruitments. We have ensured that the youth are now active participants in the state’s reconstruction as the first batch of Group-1 officers of our government,” the CM said.
CM lauds TGPSC
The CM also acknowledged the role of the TGPSC in overseeing the examination process. “In line with our government’s vision and resolve, the TGPSC has been revamped to ensure complete transparency. The commission has completed these recruitments with the utmost integrity, and the staff deserves special commendation for this achievement,” he said.
Telangana HC rejects reevaluation plea
In February 2026, the Telangana High Court rejected the plea seeking re-evaluation of or reconduct of the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Group 1 mains examination.
The TGPSC conducted the examinations from October 21 to 27, 2024, to fill 563 vacancies in the state. At least 31,383 candidates had applied for the exams and around 30,000 candidates appeared for it. However, aspirants led by K Parshuramulu from Siddipet, filed a petition alleging discrepancies in the evaluation of the answer sheets.
A division bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin, dismissed another appeal filed by unsuccessful candidates seeking reexamination.
The High Court’s judgement will pave the way for appointment of the candidates who qualified the exam.
