Hyderabad Police launches ‘A Day with CP’ for students to explore department

As part of the program, 10 boys and 10 girls studying in Classes 8 to 10 in government high schools across Hyderabad will visit and observe various wings of the police department.

Hyderabad: In a unique initiative, Hyderabad police launched ‘A Day with CP’ program on Wednesday, April 1, allowing 20 government school students to tour various wings of the police department and gain awareness about the police system.

As part of the program, 10 boys and 10 girls studying in Classes 8 to 10 in government high schools across Hyderabad will visit and observe various wings of the police department between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm for the next 45 days.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar formally inaugurated the program on Wednesday at the CCS Office in Basheerbagh by conducting a video conference on security arrangements for the ‘Sri Veera Hanuman Vijaya Yatra’ for students from Mangalhat Government School.

The CP also demonstrated the live process of receiving complaints from victims and explained the grievance redressal mechanism.

Earlier in the day, as part of their field visit, the students toured the Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) in Banjara Hills, along with the Main Program Control Room, IT Cell, Special Branch, SHE Teams, Cyber Crime Wing, and city Armed Reserve Headquarters.

The students were later presented with books and appreciation certificates.

The CP stated that the primary objective of the initiative is to instil social responsibility among children from a young age and to sensitise them to social evils such as cybercrime and drug abuse, while building trust in the policing system.
