
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation on Saturday, July 4, conducted an anti-encroachment drive across the three zones of the district.
In the Serligampally Zone, the drive was conducted at the Botanical Garden Road in Gachibowli, Narsingi’s Pipe Line Road, Radial Road-30, Beeramguda Main Road in Ameenpur, and Chandanagar NH-65. The authorities noted the progress was across five stretches, covering 18 kilometres with a total of 292 encroachments removed.
Videos shared on social media showed JCB demolishing makeshift structures amid a heavy police presence.
Kukatpally zone
In the Kukatpally zone, the CMC officials covered 4 stretches of 5.9 km and removed at least 140 encroachments. The encroachment drive was held in Madhapur at the HUDA Mayuri Road, Pipe Line Road in Allwyn Colony, BSNL Lane, and Moosapet’s Don Bosco Road or the PR Nagar Road.
Quthbullapur zone
In Quthbullapur, Areas covered included Chintal Ranga Nagar Main Road, Jagathgirigutta Main Road, Kompally’s Quthbullapur X Road, Gajularamaram’s Devender Nagar Road, Pragathi Nagar Road in Nizampet, ORR Service Road in Dundigal and Medchal Main Road.
The authorities covered 8.45 km, removing as many as 265 encroachments.
Overall, the CMC covered 17 road stretches and 32.25 kilometers, removing 697 encroachments.
The drive, led by Deputy Commissioners with Town Planning teams in coordination with the Police Department across all circles to restore unobstructed footpaths, improve pedestrian safety, and ensure orderly use of public spaces.
