Telangana’s new EHS scheme begins, cashless treatment available

Leading corporate hospitals such as Apollo Hospitals, Continental Hospitals, Yashoda Hospitals and KIMS Hospitals will implement the NEHS.

Hyderabad: In a significant step towards ensuring healthcare security for government employees and pensioners, the government launched the New Employees Health Scheme (NEHS) across Telangana on Saturday, August 22.

A high-level meeting was held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of the Employee Health Care Trust (EHCT) CEO and Convenor of the Trust Board. Members of the EHS Board of Trustees, including TG-JAC Chairman Maram Jagadishwar, attended the meeting.

Representatives of the Telangana State Hospitals Association (TSHA), including its president and general secretary, as well as leading corporate hospitals such as Apollo Hospitals, Continental Hospitals, Yashoda Hospitals and KIMS Hospitals, also participated in the meeting.

Following discussions, TSHA and representatives of the participating hospitals unanimously agreed to implement the New EHS scheme with immediate effect from Saturday, making cashless treatment facilities available to eligible beneficiaries from today.

The meeting also released the NEHS guidelines, which lay down revised procedures relating to hospital empanelment, treatment protocols and claim settlement.

Officials of the Employee Health Care Trust expressed satisfaction with the cooperation extended by the hospital sector towards the new scheme. They described the development as a positive step towards ensuring uninterrupted and quality healthcare services for government employees and pensioners across Telangana.

The Trust urged all empanelled hospitals to extend their full cooperation in implementing the NEHS guidelines in letter and spirit, ensuring that beneficiaries receive timely and hassle-free treatment.
