Two arrested for illegally transporting PDS rice in Telangana

Both accused work as drivers. They were held with 100 quintals of rice, police said.

Hyderabad: Two people were apprehended for illegally transporting Public Distribution System (PDS) rice in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district on Thursday, June 18.

Kethavath Prabhas and Banoth Shiva, both 20-years-old and residents of Kandhigadda Thanda village, were arrested with 100 quintals of rice. They had been transporting the rice illegally from areas surrounding Aler to Gajwel and Siddipet.

A DCM vehicle was also seized. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
