Hyderabad: Economic Offences Wing police station set up in Malkajgiri

The EOW police station will register cases of financial fraud involving cheating, criminal breach of trust and fabrication of documents where the fraud exceeds Rs 2 crore.

Hyderabad: An Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Police Station was inaugurated at the Police Quarters in Neredmet in Malkajgiri by Police Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty on Wednesday, April 1.

The EOW police station will register cases of financial fraud involving cheating, criminal breach of trust and fabrication of documents where the fraud exceeds Rs 2 crore.

It also addresses the cases under the Telangana State Protection of Depositors of Financial Establishments Act, 1999 (as amended in 2023), involving amounts above Rs 1 crore, and any other cases as directed by the commissioner of police, Malkajgiri.

Aninash Mohanty formally launched the police station’s operations by making a General Diary (GD) entry.

The EOW police station will presently run under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Road Safety, K Manohar, with two Assistant Commissioners of Police, P Sathaiah and C Anjaiah, and 3 Inspectors, K Bhaskar, A Surya Nayak and K Ravi Kumar.
