Shot five times, revolutionary Telugu poet Gaddar still unnerved

Hyderabad: Twenty five years ago, revolutionary Telugu poet Gaddar was shot five times. The assassination attempt failed but as he remarks, the sole bullet still lodged in his spinal cord works to prove state repression.

Gaddar sat down with Siasat.com, discussed his past ties with naxalism, state repression and why poetry matters. The interview was conducted in English, Hindi and Telugu to celebrate the various languages Gaddar has staked a claim to.
