Telangana: BRS announces Warangal, Chevella candidates for LS polls

Dr Kavya Kadiyam and Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj will fight from the Warangal and Chevalla constituencies respectively.

Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), on Wednesday, March 13, announced its candidate names for the Warangal and Chevella Lok Sabha constituencies, for the upcoming General Elections.

According to a press release, Dr Kavya Kadiyam and Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj will fight from the Warangal and Chevella constituencies respectively. The names were selected by party chief K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR).

Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj was earlier associated with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as Telangana’s president before he joined BRS in the run-up to the Assembly elections last year. He was previously a Member of the Legislative Council in Andhra Pradesh and has been associated with various political parties like Mana Party, Indian National Congress, and TDP.

Gnaneshwar is known for his involvement in different political roles and affiliations, including being the national president of Mudiraj Mahasabha. He has held positions in organizations like the Hyderabad Cricket Association and Telangana Kabaddi Association.

Dr Kavya Kadiyam, a pathologist by profession, is the daughter of senior BRS leader and former Telangana deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari. She is known for her charitable work through her organization, the Kadiyam Foundation.

On March 4, the party announced its first list of Lok Sabha candidates which includes B Vinod Kumar for Karimnagar, Koppula Eshwar for Peddapalli, Nama Nageshwar Rao for Khammam and Maloth Kavitha for Mahabubabad.

The party said that the decision to nominate these four candidates was taken after the candidates found unanimous approval from cadres hailing from these constituencies.
