Hyderabad: In a major step toward strengthening its fight against drug abuse, the Telangana government has launched a new website for the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE Force).
Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy inaugurated the platform on Tuesday at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) in Hyderabad.
AI tools to enhance awareness and support
The newly introduced website features three AI-powered tools designed to tackle different dimensions of drug-related issues. “Sahay AI” aims to address public queries and clear doubts regarding narcotic substances. “Shield AI” focuses on educating users about the physical, psychological, and social challenges faced by individuals who consume drugs.
Meanwhile, “Mitra TG AI” is tailored to help parents and teachers identify early signs of drug use among youth and take preventive measures.
Multilingual accessibility for wider reach
To ensure inclusivity and broader public engagement, these AI tools are made available in Telugu, English, Hindi, and Urdu. Officials noted that this multilingual approach will help reach diverse communities across the state more effectively.
Officials emphasise technology-driven enforcement
Speaking at the launch, senior officials highlighted the importance of leveraging technology in combating drug abuse. The initiative is expected to strengthen awareness, early intervention, and enforcement mechanisms.
The event was attended by EAGLE Force Director Sandeep Shandilya, TGCSB Director Shikha Goel, TGICCC Director VB Kamalasan Reddy, Vigilance and Enforcement DIG Abhishek Mahanti, EAGLE SPs Giridhar and Padmaja Reddy, and KCS Raghuveer, among others.
