A video of school children from Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region chasing their drunk teacher away has gone viral on social media platforms.
According to local reports, the video was recorded in Pilibhatta primary government school. The teacher would show up in class in an inebriated state, often sleeping on the floor. When asked to teach by the students, he would abuse them.
Fed up with his constant state of drunkenness, the students decided to teach him a lesson. Last week, when the teacher showed up in his usual state, the students greeted him with a flurry of chappals.
Shocked, the teacher immediately ran to his two-wheeler and fled the spot. In the video, students are seen hurling chappals at him even as he tries to start his vehicle.
The video was shared by Sneha Mordani, news editor and anchor in India Today.
“In Bastar, kids took matters into their own hands when a teacher showed up drunk to school. Instead of teaching, he abused them. Fed up, the children chased him away by throwing shoes and slippers. The incident, caught on video, has sparked outrage on social media,” she wrote on X.
