Nitish thanks Bihar’s people
Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar thanked people of the state for giving a “landslide” victory for the ruling NDA in the assembly polls.
The ruling alliance was set to achieve a thumping majority in the elections by “demonstrating complete unity”.
In a post on X on Friday, Kumar wrote, “People of the state have expressed their confidence in our government by giving us a landslide mandate in the polls. For this, I bow to all the esteemed voters of the state, and express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks”.
He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his continuous support to the NDA government in the state.
“The NDA alliance is set to achieve a massive majority in this election by demonstrating complete unity. For this, thanks and gratitude are also due to all the partners of the NDA alliance – Chirag Paswan Ji, Jitan Ram Manjhi Ji and Upendra Kushwaha Ji. With the support of all of you, Bihar will progress even further and will be included in the category of the most developed states in the country”, he wrote on the social media platform.
Nitish Kumar will remain Bihar CM, says Chirag Paswan
Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan said that he firmly believed that Nitish Kumar would continue to remain the state’s chief minister.
Paswan attributed the “arrogance” of the Tejaswai Yadav-Rahul Gandhi-led opposition alliance for its thumping defeat and stated that the people’s “faith in the unity of NDA partners” was the reason behind their convincing win.

“I firmly believe that Nitish Kumar will remain the Bihar chief minister. Arrogance is the cause for the opposition’s humiliating loss and it is the sole factor that led to its downfall,” Paswan told reporters.
“Our overwhelming victory is on account of the strength of the double-engine government which is led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and our chief minister Nitish Kumar in the state. The people of Bihar have reposed complete faith in the unity of the NDA partners which has led to this win,” he added.
Till reports last received, Paswan’s LJP (RV) had won two and was leading in 17 of the 29 seats it contested, consolidating the party’s position within the NDA. Seventeen of these seats were previously held by the Mahagathbandhan in the 2020 elections, adding fresh gains to the ruling coalition and helping it cross the 200-seat mark.
