Hyderabad: A video of an exchange of slaps between two Telangana Police Constables – one drunk and the other on official duty – has gone viral.
The incident occurred in Warangal district on August 19. The drunk constable, attached to the Telangana State Special Police (TSSP), was creating a nuisance outside a bar. The staff called the police helpline, following which Constable Santosh Reddy reached the spot and requested his colleague to wear his shirt and leave the premises.
However, the TSSP constable refused and created more nuisance. Constable Reddy allegedly slapped him, following which he too slapped the on-duty constable.
Reddy then hit him with a stick even as some locals joined in and thrashed the TSSP constable.
Later, a case was registered at A J Mills Colony police station against the TSSP constable on charges of obstructing police personnel from discharging official duty and assaulting an on-duty policeman. A notice was issued to the accused, police said.
