Dubai uses AI to monitor 7,200 vehicles, 14,500 drivers

The AI control centre manages 5,200 taxis 24/7, supporting drivers, directing them to high-demand areas, and enhancing performance to meet customer satisfaction.

Abu Dhabi: Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) under RTA has begun using artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor and track drivers’ performance, the Dubai Media Office (DMO) reported.

As many as 7,200 vehicles including, school buses, taxis, limousines, commercial buses, and motorcycles are now being monitored by AI in Dubai.

DTC is monitoring 1,000 school buses to ensure student safety and timely arrivals at schools and homes.

“The center assists senior management in decision-making, provides Dubai calendar, and ensures taxi fleet deployment according to demand, redirecting vehicles to high-demand areas,” Ammar Al Braiki, Director of Fleet Operations at DTC, said.

DTC plans to enhance its transportation services by implementing automated operations, big data analysis, and smart systems to meet global standards and ensure safety.
