Responding to the BRS' criticism of the Congress government for failing to deliver on Group 1 appointments by February 1, Revanth said the cleanup of the TSPSC took time due to "rules."

Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy announced the state government’s decision to increase the age limit of Group 1 applicants to 46 years.

The previous age limit was between 18 and 44 years.

He announced it in the Telangana Assembly’s Budget session on Friday, February 9.

Responding to the BRS’ criticism of the Congress government for failing to deliver on Group 1 appointments by February 1, Revanth said the cleanup of the TSPSC took time due to “rules.”

“The clean up of TSPSC has been delayed due to some rules. The opposition is speaking about 2 lakh jobs as 4 of them lost their jobs. We are not the government that would fill the jobs by selling question papers in Xerox shops. We won’t sell the jobs by placing our relatives in government positions,” he said, in a frontal attack on the BRS’ governance.

Revanth said that the youth have been eagerly waiting for jobs in the police department. “We will soon fill 15000 vacancies in the police department. We will also fill vacancies in Universities,” he added.

The Group 1 exams in Telangana are conducted by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC).
