Hyderabad pub booked for facilitating prostitution, nine held

According to the police, the establishment was using women to attract male customers and generate inflated bills while also facilitating prostitution.

Hyderabad: A late-night operation carried out by Kukatpally Deputy Commissioner Ritiraj and KPHB police at Kings and Queens (Club Masti) Pub on the intervening night of June 6-7 allegedly revealed a prostitution racket and resulted in the arrests of nine staff members.

According to the police, the establishment was using women to attract male customers and generate inflated bills while also facilitating prostitution.

Apart from this, the pub was operating beyond permitted timings, serving food and liquor in violation of government permissions and had no measures in place to prevent the entry of minors. The establishment also reportedly lacked a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the police.

Moreover, three cases had already been registered against the pub the previous year. After the current raid, a case was registered under sections 223 (disobedience of lawful orders) 292 (public nuisance) 318(4) (aggravated cheating) 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 5 and 8 of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
