Video: Massive fire erupts at shopping mall in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills

The fire occurred while some workers were using gas cutters to take down the facade/decorations on the outside of the mall.

Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at the Mangala Gauri Vastra shopping mall on Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills Road no 36 on Thursday, February 26, at around 11:30 am. No casualties or injuries were reported from the incident.

The fire occurred while some workers were using gas cutters to take down the facade/decorations on the outside of the mall. Sparks from the welding material triggered the fire, an official from the Panjagutta Fire Station told Siasat.com.

No customers were present in the mall at the time of the accident, however, four workers were trapped on the fourth floor but managed to make it out safely, he added.

Four fire tenders, including Jubilee Hills and Panjagutta, responded to the incident and were able to douse the fire in about one and a half hours. Some furniture on the fourth floor and the mall’s facade were damaged, incurring a loss of about Rs 10-15 lakh.
