Mumbai: Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty also known as “Mithun Da,” has been admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata on Saturday morning after complaining of chest pain.
According to reports, the actor was feeling uneasy, post which he was rushed to the hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment.
“The reports of the MRI are awaited. He is currently under the supervision of a neuromedicine specialist,” a doctor at the hospital told PTI.
His elder son Mimoh Chakraborty told Indian Express, “He (Mithun Chakraborty) is 100 percent fine and it’s a routine check up.”
Mithun Da is popularly known as the ‘Disco Dancer of Bollywood,’ he is famous for his unique dance style due to his 1982 film Disco Dancer. He rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s thanks to his creative and versatile performances in films with a dance, comedy, or action theme. During that time, he appeared in films including Disco Dancer, Wanted, Pyar Jhukta Nahin, Dance Dance, Prem Pratigyaa, and Agneepath. He has been the recipient of several prestigious honours including the National Award among others.
Mithun Chakraborty was recently honoured with the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award.
