Telangana likely to introduce 121 new beer, whiskey brands

Hyderabad: Telangana government is likely to introduce 121 new beer and whiskey brands, the Telangana Excise and Enforcement Department announced on Sunday, August 23.

The department has also invited objections, if any, to the introduction of new liquor brands by September 1. At present, 18 liquor companies have sought approval to sell new liquor brands in Telangana.

Some of the applicants are Abest, Cheetah, Flensburg, Tiger, San Miguel, Red Horse, Bhutanese, Siokbingo, Cacaos and Donggang. These applicants are from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab, Delhi and Haryana.

According to Excise Commissioner C Harikiran, objections to new liquor brands could be submitted via post or in person and must be submitted to the Telangana Beverages Corporation Limited (TGBCL).

The brands would be considered after the objections are examined.
