2500 additional police personnel to streamline traffic in Hyderabad

The plan involves deploying 1000 traffic police personnel in Hyderabad city, while 1500 personnel will be stationed in Rachakonda and Cyberabad.

Hyderabad: In a bid to ease traffic congestion in Hyderabad, 2500 additional traffic police personnel will be deployed across various key areas, including Secunderabad, Rachakonda, and Cyberabad.

The decision was made following a review meeting chaired by chief minister A Revanth Reddy, where he acknowledged the pressing need to address traffic issues in the city.

During the meeting, the chief minister, along with top police officials and representatives from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), discussed strategies to tackle traffic congestion effectively.

The deployment of these personnel aims to target the busiest roads and intersections that frequently experience traffic jams. Additionally, measures will be taken to ensure smooth traffic flow and eliminate obstacles hindering the movement of vehicles.

According to official sources, the plan involves deploying 1000 traffic police personnel in Hyderabad city, while 1500 personnel will be stationed in Rachakonda and Cyberabad. The deployment of these additional personnel will complement the existing traffic police force, enhancing their capacity to manage traffic effectively.

Following directives from the state government to address Hyderabad’s traffic challenges, police officials and GHMC representatives have been actively assessing various intersections and compiling reports.

Based on the findings of these assessments, the government has decided to expedite the deployment of additional traffic police personnel to alleviate traffic congestion promptly.
