Six injured in knife attacks on passersby in Delhi’s Mangolpuri

Police said the injured were taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, with two later referred to Safdarjung Hospital.

New Delhi: At least six people were injured after a group of men allegedly attacked passersby with knives in the Mangolpuri area here on Friday evening, August 21, police said.

The attacks were reported from three lanes in Mangolpuri’s L Block.

Police said the injured were taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, with two later referred to Safdarjung Hospital.

Police are scanning CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the accused.

A preliminary probe suggests that an old enmity might have triggered the attack, while some suspects are believed to be juveniles, police said.

Locals alleged that the attackers also robbed people and said the incident sparked panic in the area.
