Direct Benefit Transfer system introduced

As per the orders issued by the Social Welfare Department on June 6, the initiative aims to make scholarship distribution more efficient, transparent, and student-friendly.

Under the initiative, the scholarships will be released through a Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system using the Aadhaar Payment Bridge System (APBS).

The amount will be credited to the student’s Aadhaar-linked bank account. Students will then pay the required fees to their educational institutions.
