Riyadh: A 45-year-old Telangana migrant worker, Gaddam Mohan, died early on Sunday, August 23, while undergoing treatment at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh.
Mohan, a native of Rudrangi mandal in Telangana’s Rajanna Sircilla district, had spent nearly nine years living and working in Saudi Arabia. He had travelled to the Kingdom to work as a plastering mason and support his family.
As his condition deteriorated, his son, Gaddam Arun, appealed for assistance to bring him to Hyderabad for further treatment. The family had sought help after being unable to afford an air ambulance.
Arun submitted a petition through the CM Pravasi Prajavani grievance programme held at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad, the Telangana Government’s NRI grievance platform, seeking intervention for his father’s medical evacuation.
Following the appeal, SATA Riyadh President Srinivas Macha coordinated with the Telangana Government, the Embassy of India and hospital authorities regarding Mohan’s case.
Mohan, however, died before he could be transferred to India.
Macha has since been coordinating with the bereaved family and concerned authorities to facilitate the repatriation of Mohan’s mortal remains to Hyderabad. SATA representatives Khaja Muzammil Uddin, Singu Naresh Kumar and Mudigonda Shankar are coordinating with the concerned authorities to expedite the repatriation process.
SATA has assured the family of continued support until the mortal remains are brought back to India.
The leadership of Srini Humanity Service Riyadh, including President Doodam Sanjeev and General Secretary Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar, also expressed condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of continued support during this difficult time.
