Dubai: Kerala man wins over Rs 8 crore in Duty Free Draw

He will be splitting the cash prize with his five other friends.

Abu Dhabi: A 40-year-old Dubai-based Indian expat won the grand prize of one million dollars (Rs 8,31,70,050) on Wednesday, October 25, in the Dubai Duty-Free (DDF) Millennium Millionaire draw.

The winner Namasivayam Hariharan, won one million dollars in Millennium Millionaire Series 438 after buying the lucky ticket number 2890.

Hariharan, who works as a senior technician for Serco, has been residing in the country for the past 26 years.

He purchased the ticket along with five of his friends. He will be splitting the cash prize among them.

“Thank you Dubai Duty Free! We are blessed to have won this prize,” Hariharan said.

Hariharan is the 218th Indian to win one million dollars since the launch of the Millennium Millionaire Show in 1999.

Other winners

A 45-year-old Jay Jhaveri, an Indian national based in Sharjah, won an Indian Scout (Black Metallic) motorbike, with ticket number 0413 in the Finest Surprise Series 553, which he purchased online on September 24.

A 36-year-old Premlal Gopinadhan, an Indian national based in Oman, won a Harley-Davidson Sportster S (Bright Billiard Blue) motorbike, with ticket number 0978 in the Finest Surprise Series 554, which he purchased online on October 20.
