Saudi Arabia to increase 30 million pilgrims annually by 2030

The Kingdom's commitment to invest 1.6 trillion Saudi riyals in tourism and pilgrimage over the next decade.

Riyadh: As part of achieving the ambitious goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) plans to increase more than 30 million Haj and Umrah pilgrims and over 100 million tourists every year, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The announcement was made by Saleh Al Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics, during a dialogue session at the Saudi-European Investment Forum in Riyadh.

Al Jasser announced the Kingdom’s commitment to invest 1.6 trillion Saudi riyals in tourism and pilgrimage over the next decade, in collaboration with the private sector and a number of countries.

The Kingdom is currently focusing on improving the quality of life and facilitating services for individuals without returning to any traditional or impractical model.

The minister emphasized Saudi Arabia’s high ambitions and capabilities, along with its competitive national cadres.

“Saudi Arabia has established two vital aviation centres to cater to its citizens’ needs and is working on connecting to 250 global tourist destinations,” he pointed out.
