Hyderabad: In an ugly turn of events, sitting Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA from Quthbullapur K P Vivekanand Goud physically attacked former MLA and BJP candidate Kuna Srisailam Goud on a live television debate show.
A video of the incident went viral on social media.
The BJP’s candidate Srisailam Goud alleged that land encroachers are in support of the BRS MLA and it led to a verbal tussle between the both of them. The BRS MLA’s violent reaction came after the BJP’s candidate said “Your father is an encroacher.”
People on the stage including police personnel had to move the BRS MLA away from Srisailam Goud to prevent further escalation.
Following the tussle, followers of both parties stormed the stage and the police had to enter the scene to get the situation under control. The barricades were pushed down by the mob and plastic chairs were flung into the air.
