New Delhi: The biased attitude of Centre\u2019s BJP government towards the first education minister of India and freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was witnessed when years old Maulana Azad Library located at Azad Bhawan was closed. The library functioning under Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), foreign ministry had books written by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a number of books and magazines in Urdu, Hindi, English, Persian and Arabic and rare manuscripts pertaining to the British government.\r\n\r\nAccording to Inquilab, several magazines published by the library have also been closed. Though the authorities claim that the library is not closed but has been temporarily shut down due to renovation work being carried out, it has been found that the library has been closed for the past 6 months. \r\n\r\nIn charge of the library, Somnath told that the library was closed down forever 6 months ago. The books and manuscripts of the library have been shifted to other libraries. The security guard of the Azad Bhawan Yogendra Singh confirmed this saying a large number of readers used to visit the library but the government for unknown reasons suddenly closed the library.\r\n\r\nA research scholar told that many research scholars used to visit the library, who are now facing difficulty as it is closed.
